Installation
System Requirements
Before installing Quotrum, ensure your system meets these requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 10/11 (64-bit), macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later, or Linux (Ubuntu 20.04+ or equivalent)
- Processor: Intel Core i3 or equivalent AMD processor (64-bit)
- Memory: 4 GB RAM minimum, 8 GB recommended
- Storage: 200 MB available disk space
- Display: 1280x720 minimum, 1920x1080 recommended
- Internet: Required for initial setup and catalog updates (offline mode available after setup)
Windows Installation
Download
- Visit quotrum.com/download
- Click Download for Windows
- Save the
.exeinstaller to your Downloads folder
Install
- Double-click the downloaded
Quotrum-Setup-1.0.0.exefile - If prompted by Windows SmartScreen, click More info then Run anyway
- Follow the installation wizard:
- Accept the license agreement
- Choose installation location (default is recommended)
- Select whether to create a desktop shortcut
- Click Install
- Wait for installation to complete (usually under 1 minute)
- Click Finish to launch Quotrum
First Launch
On first launch, Windows may prompt you to allow network access. Click Allow to enable catalog updates and cloud sync.
macOS Installation
Download
- Visit quotrum.com/download
- Click Download for macOS
- Save the
.dmgfile to your Downloads folder
Install
- Double-click the downloaded
Quotrum-1.0.0.dmgfile - When the Quotrum window opens, drag the Quotrum icon to the Applications folder
- Eject the Quotrum disk image
- Open Applications and double-click Quotrum
- If prompted “Quotrum cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer”:
- Right-click the Quotrum app
- Select Open
- Click Open in the confirmation dialog
Permissions
macOS may request permissions for:
- Network access - Required for catalog updates
- Notifications - Optional, for quote status updates
Grant these permissions for the best experience.
Linux Installation
Download
- Visit quotrum.com/download
- Click Download for Linux
- Save the
.AppImagefile to your Downloads folder
Install
- Open Terminal
- Navigate to your Downloads folder:
cd ~/Downloads - Make the AppImage executable:
chmod +x Quotrum-1.0.0.AppImage - Run Quotrum:
./Quotrum-1.0.0.AppImage
Optional: Desktop Integration
To add Quotrum to your applications menu:
- Install AppImageLauncher (recommended):
# Ubuntu/Debian sudo apt install appimagelauncher # Fedora sudo dnf install appimagelauncher - Run the AppImage again - AppImageLauncher will offer to integrate it
Alternatively, manually create a desktop entry in ~/.local/share/applications/.
Web Version
Prefer not to install software? Access Quotrum directly from your browser:
- Request web access
- Receive your login credentials via email
- Visit app.quotrum.com
- Log in with your credentials
The web version includes all features except offline mode.
Initial Account Setup
After installation, complete the initial setup:
1. Create Account
- Enter your email address
- Create a secure password (minimum 8 characters)
- Verify your email via the confirmation link
2. Company Profile
- Company name
- Industry (ISP, Carrier, MSP, etc.)
- Team size
- Region/timezone
3. Choose Catalog
Select your starting catalog:
- Standard Telecom Catalog - Common services (DIA, MPLS, SD-WAN, etc.)
- Import Custom Catalog - Upload your existing pricing (CSV/Excel)
- Start Blank - Build your catalog from scratch (Advanced)
We recommend starting with the Standard Catalog and customizing as needed.
4. Branding (Optional)
Upload your company logo (PNG or SVG, max 2 MB) for branded proposals. You can add this later in Settings.
Updating Quotrum
Quotrum automatically checks for updates on launch.
Automatic Updates
When an update is available:
- You’ll see a notification in the app
- Click Update Now or Update on Restart
- The update downloads in the background
- Restart Quotrum to apply the update
Manual Updates
To check for updates manually:
- Open Settings → About
- Click Check for Updates
- If available, click Download Update
Troubleshooting
Windows: “Windows protected your PC”
This SmartScreen warning appears for new applications. Click More info then Run anyway.
macOS: “Cannot verify developer”
Right-click the app, select Open, then Open in the dialog. This is only needed on first launch.
Linux: Permission denied
Ensure the AppImage has execute permissions:
chmod +x Quotrum-1.0.0.AppImage
Catalog won’t download
Check your internet connection and firewall settings. Quotrum requires access to:
api.quotrum.comcdn.quotrum.com

Uninstalling
Windows
- Open Settings → Apps → Apps & features
- Find Quotrum in the list
- Click Uninstall
macOS
- Open Applications
- Drag Quotrum to Trash
- Empty Trash
Linux
Simply delete the AppImage file. User data is stored separately in ~/.config/quotrum/.
